Pollywoggles Drew & Jesse pattern review

Pollywoggles is a fairly new designer that is just starting to get her foot inside the pdf pattern world.  She's quickly taking off and it's no wonder why with great patterns like the Felicity & Joy and the Finn & Riley patterns she has out already.  She loads all her patterns with options and the instructions and fit are excellent.

The Drew and Jesse were a fast sew up and are designed for fleece or sweat shirt fabric.  I was lucky enough to test these out and I can't say enough great things about them.  They're big enough to let your kids run around in them without them feeling restrained by the clothes.   My 2 wore theirs all day after I gave them to them.  The pattern has an optional knee patch template for contrasting the bottoms.   I think it's a great option to break a solid color up.  The sizing goes from 12-18 month up to a child's size 10.  The top is a raglan style with a really cute cross over collar.

A few days after I made them my kids had a pajama day at their nursery school.  They wanted to wear their new pj's because of how comfortable they were.  I'm sure it also helped a little that they were the ones that picked their fabric out.  I've notice if I give H this option she tends to WANT to wear the stuff I make for her.  Usually, she doesn't want to wear anything made by me :-P  K on the other hand loves anything I make for him.  It has to be a boy versus girl thing, maybe?

Anyways, if your little ones are needing fast pajamas that will allow them to lounge around all warm and cozy on these snowy days these are definitely the pattern to check out.
Come on mommy hurry up so we can go play!

Poe inspired pillowcase dress for Halloween

I don't really care for pillowcase dresses but they're fast and easy.  With a little creative thinking you can really dress them up.  I guess my biggest peeve it they're boring to sew up because they're so straight forward, lol.  I was in the middle of doing an order for a few Mickey Mouse inspired pillow case dresses when I decided to throw this one in the mix.  It spiced up the sewing a little from the Mickey Mouse dresses and I think it turned out super cute.

I have a couple pillowcase dress patterns but I always pick the OlaJane Sew Easy Pillowcase Dress.  I really just love the fit of this dress.  It drops down to a perfect length.  I've made probably about 7 of the OlaJanes pillowcase dresses so far.  I picked up this fabric at Joanns in the clearance bin and knew I needed to make a dress out of it.  I was just stumped on what kind.  When I had to make the other dresses I knew the fabric would look adorable in this pattern if I spiced it up a little bit.  I used sparkly purple coordinate fabric and silver sparkle jumbo rick rac to sparkle it up.

I love it.  Even though pillowcase dresses are a boring thing to sew up there's a ton of things to do to make each one different and cute.
